Salta Schoolhouse 2009/10 school year
Salta!’s Schoolhouse is a truly one-of-a-kind preschool program that combines Spanish language
immersion with early childhood education. The extended timeframe allows time for your child to socialize
while s/he builds fundamental early childhood skills – such as self-confidence, imagination, reasoning,
listening, creativity, socialization and motor coordination – all while learning Spanish in a friendly
immersion setting.
Students enjoy a thematic approach to learning and will master important concepts like phonics, letter
recognition and calendar. They will develop hand eye coordination, mathematic perception, science and
discovery. Students will be offered traditional activities of art, music, storytelling and blocks, dramatic
play and improvisation.
Students will be given plenty of opportunities for social development through association with others of
various backgrounds and capabilities. Sharing, taking turns, following simple rules and caring for
equipment are additional social experiences.
But let’s not forget the fun! Students will get messy with paint, create imaginative stories, dress up and
play with blocks. Students will have puppet shows and parades and shine in front of their parents. They
will make friends that will hopefully last forever.
