Salta! Jump Into Spanish® is an educational and cultural enrichment program designed to teach Spanish to children ages 18 months -11 years old by using an interactive, multisensory, and thematic approach to learning. Salta makes learning Spanish fun while teaching children to:
read, write and converse in Spanish
- enhance their memory skills
- heighten their creativity
- develop cultural understanding to live in a global society
Salta! Jump Into Spanish is always on the lookout for talented, native-speaking teachers with a love of their language and culture, and a desire to share it in fun and unique ways with bright young minds.
Current positions available are for the Edison and Livingston locations:
Lead Teacher
Classroom
- Follow the curriculum and the structure of Salta classes that is planned out for the children keeping in mind the policies and philosophies of the school as stated in the outline.
- Maintain close relationships with parents
- Meet with Director on a bi-weekly basis
- Decorate the classroom according to season and semester
- Maintain a list of supplies that are needed to run the classes, the art room and the school.
- Maintain a roster of the children that attend Salta each day and submit to office manager daily.
- Attend all staff meetings
Sales
- Assist parents in deciding what tools will be needed at home to reinforce the language and answer questions that parents may have regarding our program and their child.
- Prepare for free trial classes. Gain feedback from parent/child immediately following class. Encourage enrollment.

Assistant Teachers
Classroom
- Work with the teacher as a cooperating team. Check daily plans and share responsibilities.
- Participate in classroom activities
- Help supervise manipulative toys play (games, puzzles); provide assistance where needed.
- Encourage children to speak Spanish whenever possible to teachers and each other.
- Supervise classroom when the teacher is out of the classroom.
- Help teacher with classroom setup and preparation of materials before arrival of children and with general housekeeping tasks during and after class time.
- Attend all staff meetings.
- Share with the teacher any ideas you would like to develop.
Maintenance
- Ensure that the instruments and toys are sprayed down and cleaned on a weekly basis.
- File away all educational tools, songs and pictures, decorations in the appropriate bin after use.

Intern
Must speak Spanish at all times while providing assistance to Head Teacher as needed; enthusiastically participate in and engage the children in all activities while encouraging them to speak Spanish; assist those children that need extra help; make photocopies and assist in preparing crafts and filing.
A weekly stipend is provided for this position.
