On September 14, 2011, Salta Founder Jackie Sanin was diagnosed with stage II breast cancer. Following a double mastectomy and months of chemotherapy, she was declared cancer free on February 9, 2012.
In support of Jackie’s victory over cancer, Salta has joined the American Cancer’s Society’s Movement for More Birthdays.
From March 28, 2012 to March 28, 2013, Salta will donate $5 to ACS’ More Birthdays for every student registration. Why March 28th? It is Jackie’s birthday, a milestone she now looks forward to celebrating as a breast cancer survivor and wishes the same for others battling this deadly disease.
American Cancer Society’s More Birthdays movement is dedicated to creating a world with less cancer and more birthdays. It is estimated that 11 million cancer survivors will celebrate another birthday this year, thanks in large part to the American Cancer Society’s relentless work in early detection, cancer prevention, support during and after diagnosis, finding cures and rallying communities.
