Founder Jackie Sanin

Jacqueline Sanin is the CEO and Founder of Salta! Jump Into Spanish. For Jackie, as she is commonly known, creating Salta grew out of a desire to have her children embrace their Cuban heritage. Prior to becoming a mom, Jackie, a graduate of Kean University, worked at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center where she conducted training courses. Following the birth of her daughter, Jackie decided to use her training experience and her love of language and culture to create Salta.

Jackie proceeded methodically. She took a course at the Small Business Development Center at Raritan Valley College in the North Branch section of Branchburg and hired a business coach, who helped her with marketing and creating a business plan. She then went to her children’s school and hired a couple of teachers to help her develop the curriculum.

The school, the prestigious Wardlaw-Hartridge in Edison, NJ, worked with Jackie to run a pilot program on its premises, offering the course for free for six months as an after-school program. With three classes and eight students in each, the pilot was deemed a success, and the parents encouraged her to open her own location.

Salta opened its doors in April 2003 in Metuchen, NJ with 38 students in the first semester. Enrollment rapidly picked up pace and soon Salta outgrew the modest space in Metuchen and moved to the Oaktree Presbyterian Church in neighboring Edison.

Now with 180+ students and a full-fledged summer camp and 2 additional franchise locations in NJ, Salta continues to achieve outstanding results with its young students and families.
